In 2019 the book «9. Diari de l'expedició santanyinera al voltant de Mallorca» was published, cured by Sebastià A. Adrover Vicens. In it features different authors of several genres who talk about the diverse and varied aspects that are dealt with in the diary found by the curator.
This year marks the 125th anniversary of the tour, organised by 9 members of the «Reial Gremi d'Assadolladors» regular members of «S'excursionista santanyinera».
The Museu Marítim de Mallorca has promoted a tour arround to Mallorca to commemorate the date. With this commemoration, the museum has divulgued the Mallorca's fragile and rich maritime heritage, represented by wooden ships rigged with lateen sails. This heritage merges with the island's rich history, culture and nature, and is made visible through the emerging pop culture of our land, in harmony.
On July 26, 2024, the journey began from Cala Figuera, and 7 ports were visited: Portocolom, Portocristo, Cala Ratjada, Alcúdia, Port de Sóller, Port d'Andratx i Palma. All of them were visited by a joint of traditional boats, the real protagonists of the tour, which remind the shapes and the way of sailing of the San Miguel the lateen-sailed lute that made that first tour arround the island possible.
For the tour trip, a programme was created that mixes tradition and modernity around the island's own culture and heritage, which is constantly changing but does not want to lose its origins.
Many thanks to all the institutions and people who have made this adventure possible.
